Salaam Ul-Muslimiyn's Orphans Of Islam

OUR ORPHANS OF THE IVORY COAST

Supporting the Orphans

Our donation forms. You may print and use these forms for donation if you wish.

As Salaamu Alaikum.

We are attempting to assist the orphans of Ghana and help a Nigerian Masjid get finished.

The orphans in Ghana are extremely hard pressed for help. The over-all condition of Ghana is pitiful; half the time there is no electricty and the sewer system there is a ditch in front of each house, where a pipe from the house runs into the ditch. When you walk outside you can smell that the air is filled with the smell of urine and feces. (The same is also true for Nigeria).

Donations are greatly needed so that we can build an orphanage for these children. We believe that it will take at least $1,500,000.00; to buy the land we need and build a structure to assist these orphans.

There are orphanages there collecting funds for the children but these orphanages are trash cans, and these organizations are just takening advantage of the situation and collecting funds for their own desires and not for the orphans.

SUPPORTING THE WIDOWS AND ORPHANS.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (SAW) said:
'The one who strives to support the widow and the poor is like a Mujahid who fights in the cause of Allah, and like one who stands in the night (in voluntary prayer) and fasts by day." (Sahih)

As-Salaamu Alaikum

We are canvasing Masjids to extend assistance to the growing situation of Muslim women in shelters to afford them assistance that may not be available to them in a regular city shelter. i.e., halal meals, Isamic dress, Islamic literature, etc.

            Our Organization is 501(c)(3) approved.

At present we are setting up halal meals to serve to individuals in need.

Our EIN number is 04-3654929, we can be check on the N.Y.S. website at:

We are also in need of donations, to purchase a building to use as a muslimah shelter. We are in need of $7,000.00 right now to fix a building we own. We are tax deductible. So if your masjid could ask the community to give a donation towards us reaching this final goal we will be thankful.

We also are in need of donations for our African children’s shelter which houses orphaned children of Muslim parents who have passed away. These children may receive one meal a day consisting of a small bowl of rice, with a sauce made from two or three chickens, that is stretched to feed a couple of hundred children.

We are in need of a great deal of money and are asking the Muslim Ummat to support us in our efforts to assist these sisters and children.

We would love to build a better orphanage, and build an energy center that will supply electricity to the orphanage and surrounding area.

We plan to build several turbines to generate electricity that will be used to run the orphanage, and we also plan to build a turbine for the sister’s shelter in Albany, NY, to help with energy needs there.

But in order to do this we need donations.

Allah says in Qur’an that we should not go to the non-Muslims for help:

﴿بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴾

We say we are Muslims striving to become believers, yet we are failing in caring for our own, fellow Muslims. Is this the action of one striving to become a believer? Donate and help us to help others.

(Verily, your Lord is Ever Watchful.) Ibn `Abbas said, "He hears and He sees.'' This means that He watches over His creation in that which they do, and He will reward them in this life and in the Hereafter based upon what each of them strove for. He will bring all of the creation before Him and He will judge them with justice. He will requit each of them with that which he deserves, for He is far removed from injustice and tyranny.

TAMALE

Allaahu Akbar, Allaahu Akbar, Allaahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha il-lAllaah, Allaahu Akbar Allaahu Akbar, Wa Lil-laahil-hamd

(Allaah is the Greatest, Allaah is the Greatest, Allaah is the Greatest, there is no god but Allaah; Allaah is the Greatest and to Allaah be all praise).

"It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards East or West; but it is righteousness to believe in Allah and the Last Day and the Angels and the Book and the Messengers; to spend of your substance out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask; and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayers and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts which you made; and to be firm and patient in pain (or suffering) and adversity and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God fearing"(Quran 2: 177).

The above verse is the concept of social work in Islam. It is however more than a philosophical concept but a practical draft that outlines the why, whom, and who of service delivery.

worship is incomplete without the input of helping deeds

Why?

The question of why we should establish formal social services in our communities is explained in this verse.

Allah is advising us that our worship is incomplete without helping deeds. So after having believed in Allah, the angels, the Prophets, the Books and the Last Day we must translate our Iman (faith) our beliefs into actions of service to humankind.

In fact it is incumbent on believers to fulfill this duty of service to those who need their help. Each and every Muslim is to contribute to the welfare of society. Therefore by establishing social services within Muslim communities, every Muslim can indirectly participate through financial and moral support. When professionals administer social services with the support of the community at large. It would help all of us to fulfill our social responsibility as believers.

One Hadith states that Abu Hurairah related: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the grieves on the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates [the] lot of a destitute person, Allah will alleviate his lot in this world and the next. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the next. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother."

Who?

The question of who is best qualified to carry out the duty of serving the community in the area of social services, is again outlined in this verse as one who believes in the Unity of Allah, the Last Day, the Angels, Books and Messengers of Allah. In other words, the verse emphasizes the significance of Iman and Mufassil as the defining characteristic of a Muslim — one who having believed totally completely and with understanding is then compelled by his belief to act upon them through service to humanity thus completing their faith.

Our Ophans and widows of Yadome, Ghana. These Muslims are in dire need of assistance to survive; and as quite as its kept, it is our duty to help and support our fellow Muslims;  The Holy Quran states:
And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed) who are asking: Our Lord, rescue us from this town of oppressors and make for your presence protectors and provide us the defenders. (4:75).
Rasulullhah (saws) stated:
Allah (sw.t.) will not show mercy to him who does not show mercy to others. (Transmitted by Bukhari and Muslim).

Life is full of joys and sorrows. At one time or another, everyone experiences their share of joyous times and difficult times. We know that it is our duty thank Allah (s.w.t) for our happiness and pray for His help and forgiveness in times of distress and sadness. However, it is also our Islamic duty to help others who may be experiencing difficult times. It is the duty of the strong to the help the weak. It is the duty of the healthy people to visit and comfort the sick. It is the duty of everyone to take care of the less fortunate particularly orphans and widows. By sharing good and bad times, we become more than a community, we become a brotherhood.
Many unforeseen circumstances occur in life which leaves people in need of help. Allah (s.w.t) tests the sincerity of our faith through such circumstances. For example, natural disasters, such as fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornadoes, leave people homeless, without food or other belongings. Often, they have to build their lives from almost nothing.
Due to an unstable economy, people may lose their jobs, as companies close down. Sometimes, people become disabled due to illness or an accident and lose the capacity to work. Their families may suffer great losses as a result. One can never tell when a situation may change things for the worse. Therefore, we should always be generous to those who are going through hard times and thank Allah (s.w.t) for His Mercy. Especially in times of prosperity, we must have compassion and sympathy for those who are suffering.
